Schedule links to go live (and expire) automatically

Some links should only exist for a while: a launch page that goes live at a fixed hour, a sale that ends Friday, a beta invite that closes when you say so. Every link you create has an optional schedule window for exactly this.

Setting the window

Open the link in the editor and find the schedule fields. Set a start time, an end time, or both:

  • Start only — the link is dead until that moment, then works normally. Perfect for launch-day URLs you want to print, embed, or hand to press early.
  • End only — the link works now and stops at the deadline, without you staying up to pause it.
  • Both — a self-running campaign window.

Times follow the schedule you set on the link; clearing a field removes that bound. You can also set or change both values through the API.

What visitors see outside the window

A link outside its window doesn't redirect — it behaves as if no rule matched. If the domain has a fallback URL, visitors land there instead of a dead page, which is a tidy way to make an expired offer link point at your homepage.

Things worth knowing

  • The schedule gates the link, not the analytics. Clicks that arrive outside the window simply aren't redirected.
  • Pausing is still the tool for "stop it right now." Schedules are for times you already know in advance.
  • Editing the window takes effect immediately — extend a sale by a day and the link keeps working; no need to recreate it.

A practical pattern

Use one memorable link for the whole campaign (yourdomain.com/sale) and let the schedule do the switching: end the sale window on Friday night, and point a fallback URL at a "sale ended — join the list" page. One printed QR code, zero manual flips.
