Team accounts: invite people and share your domains

Every domain and redirect you add belongs to an account, not to you personally. That's what lets you bring other people in: invite a teammate to the account and they see (and, depending on their role, manage) everything in it -- without you sharing a password or re-adding them per domain.

Your personal account

When you signed up, a personal account was created for you automatically -- you're its owner, and by default it's the only member. If you work alone, nothing changes: you'll never need the rest of this article.

The four roles

RoleWhat they can do
ownerEverything, plus edit the account details (business name, contact email, phone, mailing address) and manage members. Every account has at least one owner.
adminDay-to-day management plus inviting people and changing member roles.
memberDay-to-day management: add domains, build redirects, run the DNS manager and email forwards.
viewerRead-only -- can see everything in the account but can't change anything.

Inviting someone

Open Account & team in the sidebar (you must be the account owner or an admin):

  • Enter their email address and pick a role, then send the invitation. They get an email with an accept link.
  • Already have a login here? Opening the link while signed in adds them to the account instantly.
  • Brand new? They register with the invited email address and accept the link once their account is approved. Invitations are bound to the address they were sent to.

Changing roles and removing people

The members table on the same page sets anyone's role or removes them from the account. Two guard rails: the last owner can never be demoted or removed (promote someone else to owner first), and removing a member only revokes their access -- everything they built stays in the account.

Working in more than one account

If you're linked to several accounts -- say, your own plus a client's -- the sidebar shows a "Working in" switcher. Everything you add lands in the account you're currently working in, and the Domains page shows that account's domains. Switch accounts any time; nothing moves.

Account details and your profile

  • Account details (business name, contact email, phone, mailing address) are edited on Account & team by the owner. Members see them read-only -- useful for invoicing details your bookkeeper needs without giving them ownership.
  • Your own profile (name, email, phone, mailing address) is always yours to edit on My Profile, and no one else can change it.

Plan limits on a team

Plan limits are per account: the domains and redirects a team account holds count against the account owner's plan, no matter which member created them. Your personal work stays on your own plan.

Who can see what

Members see all of the account's domains and redirects in one place. Viewers are strictly read-only -- the edit forms are hidden for them, and the server rejects writes too. And whenever you want a copy of everything we hold on your account, My Profile → Download my data gives you a JSON export any time.
