The DNS hosting addon is optional — the core redirect service only needs your A/AAAA records pointed at the platform. But hosting the full zone with us means every record, and your email forwarding, lives in the same dashboard as your redirects. DNS hosting plans start at $1.00/month (see pricing).
Step 1: Enable DNS hosting on the domain
On the Domains page, open the DNS hosting section on any domain and click Enable DNS hosting. A zone is created for the domain and its required records are seeded automatically. Your redirects keep working throughout — nothing breaks while you switch.
Step 2: Switch your nameservers
Open the DNS manager — it lists the anycast nameservers to set at your registrar (currently ns5.urlpath.cloud through ns8.urlpath.cloud). Until your registrar switches over, your existing DNS keeps answering, so the cutover is seamless.
Step 3: Manage records
The records table shows the whole zone. Records marked Required (the A/AAAA records your redirects depend on) are managed for you and protected from accidental deletion. Everything else is yours to add — A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, CAA, SRV — with a TTL you pick. Changes reach the anycast network within minutes.
Step 4: Forward email — including a catch-all
- In the Email forwarding section, map a mailbox to a real inbox: info@yourbrand.com → your personal email.
- Use @ as the mailbox for a catch-all: every address nothing else claims lands in your inbox. Perfect for for-sale domains, where buyers guess at addresses.
- If the zone has no MX records yet, the ones forwarding needs are created for you.
Limits
Each tier sets zones, records per zone, and forwards per zone — Starter 5/50/1, Pro 25/500/2, Agency 100/2,000/3. The DNS manager shows your usage at the top; need more forwards than your plan includes? Contact sales.
On a team account?
Zones are counted per account against the account owner's DNS Hosting plan, whichever teammate enables them — and every managing member can run the DNS manager and email forwards from their own login. See Team accounts for roles and invites.
